Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and former Attorney General Jeff Sessions reportedly both got enthusiastic standing ovations at a Federalist Society convention event Thursday night.

BuzzFeed News reported hundreds of members of the conservative lawyers group erupted in cheers and applause when Kavanaugh's name was announced at the Antonin Scalia Memorial Dinner.

He was of four justices at the D.C. event, along with Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Neil Gorsuch. The standing ovation for the newest member of the high court bench lasted nearly a minute, BuzzFeed News reported.

It was Kavanaugh's first public appearance since his bruising confirmation process.

Sessions also attended the event, and members cheered and gave him a standing ovation when his name was announced as well, BuzzFeed News reported.
