Judge Emmet Sullivan tossed another wrench into ex-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's plans — ordering him to surrender his passport and remain within 50 miles of the District of Columbia by Jan. 4.
Flynn had been allowed to travel freely under the conditions laid out by another judge, but Sullivan said he only learned of those earlier Tuesday.
The judge declared he now wants Flynn — who has been living in Middletown, R.I., near his family — to get permission for any traveling outside the 50-mile radius of the nation's capital.
Sullivan says he is approving Flynn's already planned international travel but he must surrender his passport by the Jan. 4 deadline.
Earlier Tuesday, Flynn's sentencing hearing went off the rails for those expecting the retired three-star general to receive leniency, as the judge blasted Flynn for committing crimes while serving in the White House and argued he "sold out his country."
