Former U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman criticized the United States for not confronting Beijing over its state-sanctioned hacking of the U.S. computer grid.
"Yes, they do it. Yes, the state is behind it," Huntsman said Sunday on
"The Cats Roundtable" on AM 970 in New York. "They’re very active. They’re picking up a lot of our technology. And shame on us for not doing anything about it."

The Chinese want to know what our airplanes, missile systems ships of tomorrow are going to look like, Huntsman told host John Catsimatidis, "but they also want to know what our corporations are doing and the kinds of technology that are being developed, whether it's in Coca-Cola or whether it's in Ford Motor Co."
A lot of the country's college students also are "poking around," Huntsman said, perhaps subcontracted out by Chinese government agencies.
Huntsman, a Republican, served as President Barack Obama's ambassador to China from 2009 to 2011.
