Hyperloop One's full-scale pod hit a new record of 192 mph in a test Saturday, according to TechCrunch.

The 192-mph speed was the highest speed for any Hyperloop tests conducted so far.

The Hyperloop company said every aspect of the system worked well in the test, including motors, electronics, the vacuum pump, and the magnetic levitation mechanism, according to TechCrunch.

The hyperloop concept involves a pod traveling through a pneumatic tunnel at about 800 mph. Innovator Elon Musk is optimistic about the project, but industry experts said the costs of the project were "incomprehensible."

Musk said on July 20 that the government gave him verbal approval for an underground hyperloop that would make a trip from New York City to Washington, D.C. in only 29 minutes.
