Former Vice President Joe Biden appears on track to announce a presidential bid in April, according to a new report.

Fox Business Network reported Wednesday that Biden has told his connections on Wall Street he is looking at revealing his intention to run for president in the coming weeks.

"He keeps telling people that he's almost certain he will run," a veteran Democratic Party insider told Fox Business. "Nothing is ever 100 percent until you announce, but this is about as close as you get."

Biden has twice run for president, in 1988 and 2008, but came up short of earning the Democratic nomination each time. He served as President Barack Obama's vice president from 2009-2017.

Biden considered joining the 2016 presidential race before deciding against it. It has been rumored for months he will enter the 2020 fray, for which he would likely be a favorite among the crowded field of Democrats.

Biden has even sought consulting assistance from social media executives to polish up his messaging should he join the race for the White House.
