A woman was rescued after being trapped in a Manhattan elevator for the entire weekend, NBC New York reported on Monday.

The 50-year-old woman, identified as a worker at the house, was stuck in the elevator between the second and third floors of a single-family townhouse on East 65th Street, a block from Central Park, authorities said.

Authorities say no one else was at home while she was working in the private townhouse, according to ABC New York.

She was rescued on Monday morning after the owners returned home after being away the entire weekend and discovered that she was inside the broken-down elevator, the New York Post reported.

They called 911, and firefighters arrived, forced open the door and rushed the woman to the hospital for an evaluation.

According to records at the Department of Buildings, no violations were found when the elevator was inspected last July.
