President Donald Trump's campaign blasted out a fundraising email Tuesday, charging "fake news" from the media — and Obama administration loyalists – are out to "sabotage" the president.
The email appeal was sent in the wake of a bombshell The New York Times report of a James Comey memo claiming the president asked him to shut down the FBI investigation of former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
CNN media reporter and "Reliable Sources" host Brian Stelter was among journalists – including those from Time and Pro Publica – who got the email in their inboxes.
The White House has previously acknowledged there are people working in the government who are likely part of what has been called the "deep state" – an inner core of former President Barack Obama loyalists seeking to stop the Trump presidency.
