The city of Atlanta dodged a radar-confirmed tornado Monday morning that prompted a "warning" that had some residents running for cover.

The storm that prompted the warning weakened, CNN reported.

According to the National Weather Service, there were no immediate reports of damage after a twister touched down in Fulton County, Ga., Monday morning, CNN reported.

A tornado "watch" was in effect for the entire metro-Atlanta area, as well as much of west-central Georgia and portions of eastern Alabama until 4 p.m. Monday, the news outlet reported.

According to news outlet 11Alive, residents of Atlanta were advised to "seek shelter now," after a tornado was confirmed by radar.

"If you know someone in the metro, call them now and tell them to head underground."

CNN posted video of what one one Atlanta neighborhood looked like as a tornado warning was issued for the city.

"Storm has passed and this area is in the clear from this storm," CNN’s Derek Van Dam reported.
