Associated Press Race Editor Sues Bosses for Racial Discrimination

A veteran Associated Press journalist is suing the global news agency for allegedly discriminating against her because of her race, sex and age, Adweek.com reports.

Sonya Ross, an African American who has been with the Associated Press for 30 years and most recently served as its "race and ethnicity" editor, charges the agency kept her from advancement and created "a climate of hostility towards African American employees."

The lawsuit states Ross "has continued to work at AP under conditions that have been extremely stressful and humiliating …"

Adweek says the Associated Press has declined to comment.
