New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo mentioned President Donald Trump's grandfather during his third inaugural speech Tuesday on Ellis Island.

"This is the harbor where Fredrick Trump arrived from Germany, and whose grandson would become president of the United States," Cuomo said, according to The Hill.

"This is not a faded memory of yesterday, but rather a shining beacon of tomorrow. Never forget where you came from, and never forget or deny this place."

Cuomo, a Democrat, frequently bashes Trump and his policies. That list includes immigration. Earlier Tuesday, he pardoned 22 immigrants who were at risk of being deported.
