Top Republican Rogers Sees Progress on US Budget

The Republican lawmaker whose staff is putting together a possible budget deal to avoid a government shutdown said on Wednesday that they are "making some progress" with Democrats.

"We are working with the Senate, I think we're making some progress. The attitude I think is good," House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers told Reuters. "On our side I think we're trying our best to avoid a shutdown."
