Anyone who wants to run for president as a Republican in 2012 would do well to wrap himself/herself in the mantle of legendary former President Ronald Reagan. So it’s no surprise that several potential candidates have decided to attend a 100th birthday celebration for the iconic conservative in Chicago Feb. 5. Those attendees include former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Indiana Rep. Mike Pence and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Illinois Republican Party also has invited other potential GOP presidential candidates: former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and Sen. John Thune, R-S.D.
