Israel Agitated by Hillary's Comments on Iran

Israel reacted strongly Wednesday to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's assertion that the United States would extend a "defense umbrella" over its Mideast allies to combat the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran.

"This is a mistake," said Dan Meridor, Israel's minister for secret services, according to a report on CBSNews.com.

Israel's concern stems from a fear that Clinton's comments indicate the United States might be willing to accept a nuclear-armed Iran.
