Question: Can you eat seeds, nuts, lettuce salads, and seeded fruits (like blueberries and strawberries) when you have diverticula?

Dr. Hibberd’s answer:

Yes you may. The old assumption that your diet may cause episodes of diverticulitis has been disproven and is no longer in our instructions for patients with diverticular disease of the colon.
