Question: What protocol would you advise for an holistic approach to brain cancer?

Dr. Brownstein's Answer:

Unfortunately, conventional medicine has not made much progress in treating many different
brain cancers. However, there are natural therapies that may help.

The first is to eat a ketogenic diet, which contains very low amounts of carbohydrates and
large amounts of fat and protein. This diet forces the body to use fats as fuel rather than sugar.

In a low carbohydrate diet, the liver can break down dietary fats to fatty acids and ketone bodies. These ketone bodies can pass through the blood-brain barrier into the brain. The brain cells can adapt to utilize ketones for fuel rather than glucose.

Brain cancer cells use glucose for fuel. Denying brain cancer cells glucose is a nontoxic way to kill them without harming normal brain cells.
