Poll: Trump Leads in NH For First Time

With Election Day less than one week away, a new WBUR poll released Thursday shows Republican candidate Donald Trump has pulled 1 point ahead of Democrat Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire.

According to the poll:

  • Trump: 40 percent.
  • Clinton: 39 percent.
  • Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson: 10 percent.
  • Green Party nominee Jill Stein: 3 percent.
  • Undecided or refused to answer: 4 percent.

In terms of trustworthiness:

  • Clinton is not trustworthy: 70 percent.
  • Clinton is trustworthy: 27 percent.
  • Trump is not trustworthy: 60 percent.
  • Trump is trustworthy: 36 percent.

The latest numbers show a stark contrast compared to the last WBUR survey released on Oct. 14, prior to the FBI announcing they were reopening its investigation into Clinton's emails from a private server.

According to the Oct. 14 WBUR poll, the former secretary of state was leading Trump by 3 percentage points, 41 to 38 percent.

The poll also notes the competitiveness in the Granite State's Senate race.

  • GOP Sen. Kelly Ayotte: 51 percent.
  • Democrat Gov. Maggie Hassan: 45 percent.

Additionally, for the gubernatorial race, Republican Chris Sununu has a 5-point lead over Democrat Colin Van Ostern:

  • Chris Sununu: 49 percent.
  • Colin Van Ostern: 44 percent.
     

This poll surveyed 500 likely voters between October 29-November 1 with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.
