Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s lead over presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump is just 3 points in a new poll.
Clinton leads Trump, 46 to 43 percent, in the
NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday, within the survey's margin of error. The same poll in April had Clinton with as 11-point lead over the businessman, 50 to 39 percent.
Sen. Bernie Sanders would beat Trump 15 points in a hypothetical match-up, 54 to 39 percent, according to the new poll.
But the survey also found that almost half of voters, 47 percent, would consider a third-party candidate if Clinton and Trump face off as the major parties’ nominees in the fall.
