Finally, The Donald did it. For weeks, the supposed presidential candidate has been hammering President Obama for not releasing his "long-form" birth certificate; after a long silence, the White House shockingly responded yesterday by sending Obama to the podium to address the issue and releasing his detailed birth certificate from Hawaii, which should dispel any further suspicion about his nation of origin.

Trump 1; Obama 0.

From a tactical perspective, what Trump did was astounding. The "birther" issue was one that had seemingly been buried beneath more serious considerations, like our national debt and the Middle East uprisings. Sure, it swirled in certain outlying Republican circles, on fringe blogs and in obscure chat rooms, but it was far from a headline-maker.
