Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger ripped President Donald Trump for his faltering approval ratings, as seen in a recent Gallup poll, in a reference to the president's repeated criticism of his "Apprentice" successor's TV ratings.
"Oh, Donald — the ratings are in, and you got swamped," Schwarzenegger says in a 40-second video posted on Twitter. "Wow. Now you're in the thirties?"
Gallup found in their daily job approval poll that Trump's approval rating fell to 37 percent on March 18, the lowest of his time in office, and 58 percent of respondents rated him unfavorably.
The former Republican governor also slammed Trump's budget proposal for its cuts to social services.
"But what do you expect? I mean, when you take away after-school programs for children and Meals on Wheels for the poor people, that's not what you call 'making America great again'. Come on!"
After Schwarzenegger announced he was leaving as host of "The New Celebrity Apprentice" at the beginning of March, Trump took to Twitter to disparage the film star, claiming he was "fired by his bad (pathetic) ratings."
"I mean who is advising you? Let me give you some advice: Go to a middle school, to Hart Middle School right in Washington six miles away from the White House. I'll take you there so you can see the fantastic work that they're doing for these children," added Schwarzenegger, who founded the After-School All-Stars program to help students from low-income families, including at Hart Middle School.
