NBC is expanding the role of MSNBC's Joe Scarborough beyond his duties as host of "Morning Joe," naming him senior political analyst for the revamped "Meet the Press,"
Mediaite reports.
Scarborough, a former Florida Republican congressman, will join the Sunday show's new host, NBC News political director Chuck Todd, as a regular panelist,
The Wrap reported.
Todd, who will make his debut Sunday, was named to head "Meet the Press" after previous host David Gregory left the show.
"Joe has one of the best political minds in the NBC family," Todd said, according to The Wrap. "His love of politics and passion for debate will guarantee the kind of robust conversation that has always been a hallmark of 'Meet the Press,' and I look forward to the reported analysis he'll bring to the table."
