Sarah Palin praised her daughter Bristol on Friday, two weeks after it was reported by Alaskan bloggers that the family got into a drunken brawl at a house party.
"I love my Bristol! My straight-shooter is one of the strongest young women you'll ever meet. I have to say this as a proud mama: right up there with their work ethic and heart for those less fortunate, my kids' defense of family makes my heart soar!"
she wrote on her Facebook page.
"As you can imagine, they and my extended family have experienced so many things (liberal media-driven) that may have crushed others without a strong foundation of faith, and I'm thankful for our friends' prayer shield that surrounds them, allowing faith to remain their anchor. Thank you, prayer warriors! I love you!"

Palin's post also linked to
an article on Patheos.com written by Bristol, in which she denied a report from Yahoo that her parents were getting divorced.
"[M]ost of what the media reports about our family is complete garbage," she wrote.
The Palins' posts don't reference the fight they were allegedly a part of, but do seek to reinforce the general reputation of the family, and weaken the reputation of media outlets reporting on them. So far, the entire family has remained silent on the fight allegation, neither denying or affirming reports that said Bristol repeatedly punched a man in the face.
Anchorage Police confirmed that the Palin family was indeed in attendance at a party where a large, alcohol-fueled fight broke out, but declined to state who was involved.
"At the time of the incident, none of the involved parties wanted to press charges and no arrests were made," said communications director Jennifer Castro.
