Rush Limbaugh said Monday a Supreme Court decision by summer on President Barack Obama’s healthcare plan would push Obamacare to the forefront of the 2012 presidential election — something the radio show host says will damage Obama’s re-election chances.
Limbaugh was referring to today’s announcement that the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on the issue of the Obama signature healthcare plan in March of 2012, with a decision possible before summer.
“The regime is out there suggesting that they would like a decision on the constitutionality of Obamacare by next June,” Limbaugh said. “I don’t know how that works out for the regime.”
He went on to say that recent election-day results in Ohio supported his assertion that the Obama administration’s healthcare plan would be a loser for the incumbent next November.
“If you look at what just happened in Ohio,” he said, “Issue 3: 66 percent of the American people want no part of the mandate requiring them to buy insurance.”
State Issue 3 asked Ohioans to vote on whether they should be mandated to buy health insurance or preserve “their freedom to choose their healthcare and healthcare coverage.”
It was passed by a 2-to-1 margin.
