A Florida woman vacationing in the Bahamas was killed Sunday in an accident when her boat hit a coral reef in the dark.

Paloma de Mazieres, 25, was just off South Bimini when she was ejected from a boat that hit a reef near Turtle Rock, The Associated Press said.

Friends offered their condolences to Robert Rico, De Mazieres’ boyfriend, online. “May she rest in peace 🙏. Keeping you in my prayers,” one wrote on his Instagram page.

Another wrote, “I hope your ok Robert.. I ran into her at Macy's not long ago and we talked about you.. She loved you a lot- she was really happy!! Hang in there!!”

De Mazieres also was apparently the owner of the iamthefoodie.com website, which gave no information about her in the “About Me” section and primarily featured shots of food dishes.

Numerous people were injured or killed in boating accidents over Memorial Day weekend. Local 10 reported that one woman died and two people were injured after their boat crashed into another boat near Miami off of Elliott Key.

In Mississippi, a 9-year-old was killed and a 28-year-old was seriously injured in two separate boating accidents, the Sun Herald reported.

Both accidents involved individuals on inner tubes. The boy was killed when his inner tube struck a tree, while the older man died when his tube hit a pier, the Herald said.

De Mazieres’ accident is being investigated by Bimini authorities.
