"Ten Commandments judge" Roy Moore, a former Alabama Supreme Court justice, has a comfortable 18-point lead in the GOP Senate primary runoff, a new poll showed Wednesday.

The Opinion Savvy-Decision Desk HQ poll showed Moore – twice stripped of his chief justice duties, including for refusing to remove a Ten Commandments monument in a state judiciary building – with 50.3 percent support compared with 32.2 percent for challenger Sen. Luther Strange, R-Ala.

The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.

Strange was appointed to temporarily fill the seat vacated by Jeff Sessions when he was confirmed as Attorney General. The runoff will be held Sep. 26.

Another poll released Sunday by JMC Analytics and Polling showed Moore with a 19-point lead over Strange, who has the backing of both President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
