Rep. Jason Chaffetz is craftily using Rosie O'Donnell's support of his Democratic challenger in a bid to fatten his campaign coffers — and the liberal comic isn't happy about it.
Last week, O'Donnell donated to the campaign of Kathryn Allen, who hopes to unseat the Utah Republican incumbent in 2018.
That prompted Chaffetz, who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, to send a pitch letter to supporters noting O'Donnell's move and asking for donations.
"Rosie O'Donnell (yes, Rosie O'Donnell) just maxed out to my Democratic opponent and is tweeting to all her liberal followers to do the same," Chaffetz began.
"I need your help to fight back … With liberals like Rosie O'Donnell already getting involved, this campaign is going to be unlike any other I've ever seen.
"Rosie O'Donnell is just the beginning. Many more liberal Democrats will most likely follower her in supporting my opponent and working to see me defeated.''
O'Donnell, whose films include "A League of Their Own" and "Exit to Eden," has labeled Trump "an orange anus" wasn't impressed at the pitch and this week fired back on Twitter:
Chaffetz is not the only Republican who O'Donnell is feuding with. She and President Donald Trump have been at each other's throats for years, eagerly exchanging vicious insults.
Trump has made fun of O'Donnell's weight and called her "a pig," "a slob" and "a total degenerate."
O'Donnell has labeled Trump "an orange anus" — a crude reference to his unusual, flame-tinted hair color.
