Six out of 10 Americans believe that special counsel Robert Mueller is running a fair investigation into alleged collusion with Russia, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll.
The results, according to Quinnipiac:
- 60 percent say Mueller is running a fair investigation.
- 27 percent say Mueller's investigation is not fair.
- 47 percent say President Donald Trump should be removed from office if he fired Mueller.
- 46 percent say Trump should not be removed if he fired Mueller.
That number is driven by Democrats, 76 percent of whom say the investigation is fair. Meanwhile, just 41 percent of Republicans think it's a fair probe, vs. 44 percent who don't think it's fair, according to Quinnipiac.
Among Independents, 63 percent think it's fair, vs. 25 percent who said no and 12 percent who are undecided about the fairness of the probe.
Overall, 64 percent of those surveyed say they believe Russia interfered with the 2016 election, including one-third of Republicans; 65 percent of Republicans, however, don't believe Russia interfered.
Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,577 voters nationwide Nov. 7-13 with a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
