Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin has urged Republican congressmen to oppose funding for the Affordable Care Act, even if that leads to a government shutdown.
She's backing Republican Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Mike Lee of Utah, and Marco Rubio of Florida, who are leading the movement to vote against any government spending bill that includes allocations for Obamacare.
Palin expressed her views in an e-mail distributed by the Senate Conservatives Fund, which is pushing Republican senators to support the idea,
The Hill reports.
"The time for rhetoric and ceremonial votes in Congress is over," Palin wrote. "The time to take serious action to stop Obamacare is now. Join us in urging Senators — Don't Fund Obamacare! Just remember — if you fund it, you own it!"
House Speaker John Boehner isn't supporting the shutdown threat at this point.
