Political strategist Mary Matalin is so "confident" Republican Donald Trump will win the election over Hillary Clinton, she told Bloomberg's "With All Due Respect" that the real estate billionaire "has a 100 percent chance of winning."
Matalin cited a closing race in the polls, despite Hillary Clinton's hundred-million campaign expenditures compared to Trump.
When pressed on whether Clinton has a "zero percent chance of winning," Matalin admitted 100 percent might be a stretch.
"Let's say 10 percent, 15 percent," she said of Clinton's chances, adding: "I just think he is going to win."
Matalin also predicted back in 2014 that Clinton would not even run for president.
"I don't really have a puppy in this thing. He's really not my guy," Matalin said. "He's not a conservative. He's not a Republican. More importantly, he's not a progressive. … He has an action for bias. What Republicans have been is James 2:17 - faith with no action. That's dead. He's a man of action, I guess."
Matalin changed her party affiliation from Republican to Libertarian back in May. Not because of Trump, but because Libertarian issues resonated more with her.
Further, despite being outnumbered and overpowered at the state level, Matalin said Trump's turnout operation will be the RNC's operation, and that the down-ticket Senate and House races in battleground states will elevate Trump.
But more than that, Matalin says Trump just has something that Clinton does not.
"I think there's something going on that we don't understand," Matalin told Bloomberg. "(Clinton) doesn't have something he has that's more critical than an operation and that's enthusiasm."
And Matalin said that enthusiasm gets stronger even when Trump is drawing condemnation from every other part of the political spectrum. To wit: His praise of Russia president Vladimir Putin earlier this week.
"We think like we think and not like the people who will vote for him," Matalin said. "They think we're all nuts and that the essence of what he's saying is true - it is true that Putin is a better leader, a stronger leader than Obama is in this country. I wouldn't say it, I think it's a distraction, but apparently distractions for Trump have no negative impact."
And Matalin has had the pulse of the Trump movement for more than a year, predicting he would "not blow up."
