With the GOP's latest healthcare bill seemingly dead in the water, a new poll shows that less than a third of Americans are satisfied with President Donald Trump's handling of the issue.
The results of a CBS News survey:
- 29 percent approve of Trump's handling of healthcare, while 62 percent disapprove.
- Trump's overall approval rating is 35 percent, the lowest it's been in the CBS poll.
Republicans were dealt a blow Monday when Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, announced she opposes the party's healthcare bill that would repeal and replace Obamacare. She is the third Republican to oppose the bill, which means it likely won't make it out of the chamber.
Other notable findings in the CBS poll:
- 58 percent approve of Trump's handling of the recent hurricanes that have struck the United States and its territories.
- 43 percent approve of Trump's handling of the economy.
- 39 percent approve of Trump's handling of North Korea.
- 35 percent approve of Trump's handling of immigration.
