Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Bob Corker defended Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, saying he and other top Trump officials "help separate us from chaos."
Corker, who recently announced he won't run for re-election in 2018, said others in the administration have been undermining Tillerson, who is under fire after a report by NBC News that he called President Donald Trump a "moron," but the senator wouldn't name them. The Tennessee Republican said he strongly supports Tillerson, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis.
"I think there are multiple people up there trying to be secretary of state and I'm just thankful that he's still there," Corker said.
Tillerson called a quick news conference Wednesday to say he's "never considered" resigning and supports Trump.
