Hillary Clinton thinks she can win Texas in the general election, something a Democratic presidential candidate has not done since 1976.
Referencing Donald Trump's lack of popularity among black and Hispanic voters, Clinton told
New York Magazine she can take the 38 electoral college votes in the Lone Star State in November.
When asked which states she could pull off an upset, Clinton said, "Texas! If black and Latino voters come out and vote, we could win Texas."
The results of an
NBC News/Survey Monkey poll released Tuesday shows Clinton is in the lead, at least nationally, among blacks (87 percent to 8 percent) and Hispanics (61 percent to 32 percent).
Texas has voted for the Republican presidential candidate every year since 1980.
