The White House could ban staff members from being allowed to use their personal phones at work, five members of President Donald Trump's administration told Bloomberg News.

Concerns about cybersecurity are the issue, not media leaks, one official said to Bloomberg.

Staff members worry that they could not reach friends or family while working. Other communication methods also are not available — phones issued by the White House are unable to send text messages, and staff members are blocked from sites such as Gmail and Google Hangouts, the report said.

Employees are not allowed to bring their phones to meetings that involve sensitive or classified information, according to the report.

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly is leading the push to ban the personal phones, another official said in Bloomberg's report. In October, it was revealed that Kelly's personal phone had been hacked.

Officials have not yet decided whether or not the ban will be imposed, or if the ban would apply to every staff member in the executive office of the president, according to Bloomberg.
