Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., made liberal use of emojis to sum up reaction, and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., used his words, calling it an "egregious attack on our democracy."
Celebrities weighed in as well.
Mark Ruffalo scolded the FCC, telling its members, "You work for the people of the US now, not the telecoms."

Facebook COO Sherl Sandberg posted her reaction, calling the decision "disappointing and harmful."
The stealth artist Banksy used a financial incentive to push back on the rules' rollback.

But one conservative poster mocked all the negative reaction.
