President Donald Trump will deliver a speech about "the renewal of the American spirit" to a joint session of Congress next week, according to the Washington Examiner.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Thursday that Trump is "currently working closely with the speech writing team on presenting his vision to Congress and the American people."
"The theme of the address will be 'the renewal of the American spirit,'" Spicer added. "The address will particularly focus on public safety including defense, increased border security, taking care of our veterans and then economic opportunity including education, job training, healthcare reform, jobs and tax and regulatory reform."
Trump's counselor Kellyanne Conway said in a recent interview that "one can expect the president to put forth a detailed and deliberative recitation of the many things he's accomplished in the first 40 days," according to Politico.
"He's his own best spokesperson and messenger in terms of [outlining] completely the list of achievements that are either largely ignored or unknown," she added.
The speech will be broadcast live on Twitter, in association with PBS NewsHour, on Feb. 28, according to CNET.
