White House Names 10 Federal Judge Nominees

The White House announced 10 judges Monday it said President Donald Trump will nominate to positions on the federal bench.

Five of the judges will be nominated to various Circuit Courts of Appeals. The full list:

• John K. Bush, Kentucky: 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.
• Joan Larsen, Michigan: 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.
• David Stras, Minnesota: 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.
• Amy Coney Barrett, Indiana: 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
• Kevin C. Newsom, Alabama: 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
• David Nye, Idaho: District of Idaho.
• Scott L. Palk, Oklahoma: Western District of Oklahoma.
• Damien M. Schiff, California: U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
• Dabney L. Friedrich, Washington, D.C.: U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
• Terry F. Moorer, Alabama: Middle District of Alabama.

All of the nominees require confirmation in the Senate.

The Wall Street Journal reported former President Barack Obama nominated Palk and Nye before he exited the White House in January. Trump decided to nominate them again.

The Journal quotes White House press secretary Sean Spicer as saying the nominees were chosen "for their deep knowledge of the law and their commitment to upholding constitutional principles."
