The chief operating officer of Jeb Bush's struggling presidential campaign is reportedly out – the highest-ranking official to leave in a shakeup announced last week.
Christine Ciccone was responsible for logistics and got paid about $12,000 a month, the
Wall Street Journal reports.
"We are grateful to have had Christine on the team, we respect her immensely," Bush spokesman Tim Miller tells the Journal.
Ciccone declined to comment.
According to the Journal , Ciccone worked in President George W. Bush's White House, serving as a legislative liaison to the Senate; prior to the Jeb Bush campaign, she worked as a lobbyist at Sphere, a top Washington consulting firm.
Bloomberg Politics first reported last Friday the former Florida governor was cutting salaries across the board for his campaign in an attempt to regain traction, especially in early-voting states.
