Video taken by the wife of Keith Scott shows the final moments leading up to the fatal shooting of the Charlotte man, NBC News reported.

The video, taken by Rakeyia Scott and obtained by NBC, does not show the shooting itself, but picks up the voices of officers ordering Keith Scott to drop the gun, the shots fired, and then the body of Scott laying on the ground, being tended to by officers.

"He better not be ******* dead, he better not be ******* dead," Rakeyia Scott can be heard shouting at the police officers. "He better live, he better live!"

At issue is whether Keith Scott had a gun. Police say one was found at the scene, but Rakeyia Scott can be heard on the video saying, "Don't shoot him, he has no weapon. He doesn't have a gun."

A gun cannot be seen on the video.

Further, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney said video from a body camera and dash-cam doesn't show Scott brandishing a weapon.

The Scott family has seen the police video, but there are no plans to release that video, Putney said.

The New York Times also received the video from Scott family attorneys and has published a transcript of the 2 minute clip.
