A British man, an eyewitness "in the seat across the aisle" of Donald Trump and Jessica Leeds' interaction on an airplane over three decades ago, has come forward, refuting Leeds' allegations and saying she "was the one that was being flirtatious" and "wanted to marry him," the New York Post reported Friday.

"I have only met this accuser once and frankly cannot imagine why she is seeking to make out that Trump made sexual advances on her," Anthony Gilberthorpe told the Post in a note provided by the Trump campaign. "Not only did he not do so (and I was present at all times), but it was she that was the one being flirtatious."

Gilberthorpe, 54, stated he was on the flight Mrs. Leeds alleged she was groped by Trump, sitting across the aisle in first class. He described what Trump and Leeds were wearing, according to the report.

The witness claimed Leeds was "trying too hard," and "very much in your face" with Trump, and — when Trump went to the bathroom — Leeds told Gilberthorpe about Trump: "She wanted to marry him."

"What she said about Trump is wrong," Gilberthorpe told the Post. "I mean, no decent human being could sit by and have a woman go on television and tell the United States of America — accuse an individual of sexually molesting. It's wrong for Trump, it's wrong for me. But you know something else? It's wrong for the American people."

Gilberthorpe told the Post he went to the Trump campaign to refute Leeds' allegations because he was "the guy in the seat across the aisle," as she told CNN.

"That I sat there — eyes bulging — and not intervening is nonsense," Gilberthorpe told the Post.

Adding: "If there's evidence Trump's done it, sure, hang him from the post, but I was there, I was in a position to know that what she said was wrong, wrong, wrong."
