Rubio: Kids Cursing Trump in Hispanic Advocacy Video 'Disgusting'

Rubio: Kids Cursing Trump in Hispanic Advocacy Video 'Disgusting'

GOP candidate Marco Rubio, the son of two Cuban immigrants, on Friday condemned the producers of a video that shows children using profane language to curse at front-runner Donald Trump, and the parents of those children, saying that as a father, he finds the clip "disgusting."

"What kind of parent allows their children to participate in something like that?" the Florida senator told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program.

"They are creating this image that somehow unless you're in favor of illegal immigration you're anti-Hispanic. That's absurd. There are millions of Hispanics that are waiting to dome this country legally whose family members have been waiting for 10 years and done it the right way. They are upset someone who came here illegally can come here faster and cheaper."

The video "Trashing Trump: Latino Kids Pound Racism Like a Pinata." was released Tuesday by Deportracism.com, which seeks to fight anti-Latino and anti-immigrant rhetoric.

Rubio said that he believes people have a right to protest, but he doesn't understand why they are protesting Trump's upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live.

"You don't like what he stands for, vote against him and don't watch his show," said Rubio.

Rubio, though, wasn't entirely sympathetic to Trump's claims during the interview, particularly when it comes to the front-runner's comments about his personal finances.

"I find it ironic Donald Trump has had four bankruptcies in his businesses," said Rubio. "Who is he to attack anybody on finances? I find that ironic. We'll move on. I'm proud of my background and where I come from."

He also commented about the upcoming debate and the news that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie have been moved to the undercard debate.

"I feel bad for them," he said. "They are working hard. They are good people. I thought they both performed well in the last debate. Any time you set up a criteria somebody will fall out. I feel bad for those who didn't make the second debate, like Lindsey Graham. These guys are out there, flying around the country, working as hard as anybody else is. It's unfortunate. But, it will work out."
