At a seminar Saturday in Beijing, wealthy investors were courted for one of the Kushner family real estate projects in the United States.

"Invest $500,000 and immigrate to the United States," was the tagline on a brochure of the event, held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel seeking funds for a development in New Jersey that would lead to what is known as an investor visa.

The speaker at the event, reported by The Washington Post, was believed to be Nicole Kushner. She is involved in the family business, according to the report. Jared Kushner has another sister, Dara, who generally shuns the spotlight.

Jared Kushner is no longer involved in his family business and will not profit from the real estate investments.

The presenter's face, however, was not clear to reporters, who kept in the back of the ballroom. The event was hosted by Qiaowai, a Chinese company that connects U.S. companies with investors there.

Key to the firm's pitch is what's known in China as the "golden visa," the EB-5 immigrant investor visa program.

The program allows foreign investors to invest in U.S. projects that create jobs and later apply to immigrate to America.

Among wealthy Chinese citizens, the EB-5 has been extremely popular – as they seek to get their families and their wealth out of the country, though it is not embraced by government officials, according to the Post.

The development is called Kushner 1, which is expected to create more than 6,000 jobs.

"This project has stable funding, creates sufficient jobs and guarantees the safety of investors’ money," according to one description quoted by the Post.
