Eric Trump, son of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and a vice president of the Trump Organization, says his father appeals to millennials – voters age 35 and under — because he "epitomized what America's all about: opportunity and working hard and being able to achieve your dreams and what you want to succeed."
Trump appeared on the Fox News show "Outnumbered" and said his father's business acumen is more of an achievement than his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton's political career.
He "built an unbelievable empire," Eric Trump said, according to Politico, adding that the achievement was comparable to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who "went out with a great idea like a Facebook and developed this idea and built it and grew it and grew and grew it."
Eric Trump said that millennials related more to Donald Trump than Hillary Clinton because some issues resonate less with them. "They obviously understand a lot of issues as it pertains to them — student debt and this and that. But I think that taxes and things like that might be a little less significant than other issues," Trump said.
Younger voters relate more to Trump's business background than Clinton's political one, according to Trump. "I just think there is disconnect between somebody who is constantly talking about, you know, policy and this and that, and then, a man who built a great company," Trump said.
While Donald Trump runs his own social media, Eric Trump said Clinton has a team that handles hers, and he thinks the difference between the two is vital. "It's the difference between a robot speaking and a person speaking," Eric Trump said.
During his "Outnumbered" appearance, Eric Trump also commented on Hillary Clinton's email scandal, saying that he believes it represents "why my generation has lost faith in politicians. It's so disturbing."
He also commented on Donald Trump's reaction to racial unrest.
He said that some communities have been "left behind" and pointed out that his father's opponent Hillary Clinton had not visited communities like Donald Trump has.
