Trump Tweets Tepid Response to Powell: 'Never a Fan'

Donald Trump offered an uncharacteristically mild response to Colin Powell, two days after documents surfaced that revealed Powell's thoughts about the GOP candidate for president:

"Disgrace. International Pariah. Racist."

Trump had been silent about Powell's emailed comments until tweeting late Wednesday:

I was never a fan of Colin Powell after his weak understanding of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq = disaster. We can do much better!

Powell, former Secretary of State and retired four-star general, didn't deny making those assertions about Trump in emails that surfaced earlier this week, thanks to the latest dump of documents by the hacker Guccifer 2.0.

"No need to debate it with you now, but Trump is a national disgrace and an international pariah" one Powell email read, according to Fox News.
