Alzheimer’s symptoms can quite easily be confused with general day-to-day ailments. This is because symptoms of Alzheimer’s include certain common traits of ageing such as irritability and mood swings, which generally occur in the case of hormonal changes.
However, Alzheimer's is incurable and has recently been declared one of the leading causes of death in the U.S. Experts have being carrying out research in this area and studying various cases of Alzheimer’s. In spite of the various efforts made by experts, treatment of Alzheimer's remains a tough code to crack.
The early symptoms of Alzheimer’s are often thought to be signs of ageing. Early symptoms include loss of memory, and difficulty with language and movements.

1. Advanced medical imaging with computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been recently introduced and has aided in the treatment of Alzheimer's.
2. Another technique that has aided physicians is the single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) or positron emission tomography (PET).
3. It has recently been found that Immunotherapy or vaccination for the amyloid protein can help treat patients already diagnosed with the disease. This technique is based on the principle of training the immune system. ACC-001 is one such vaccine that is being studied.
4.AL-108 is another neuroprotective agent that may help strengthen the immune system and help treat Alzheimer's.
