Much like the black dress color controversy, a new sensation is sweeping the internet: a photo of a woman’s legs that look shiny like they are covered with plastic, only they're not.
Five weeks ago, Instagram user @leonardhoespams, otherwise known as Hunter Culverhouse, posted a picture of her legs. According to Glamour, friends began commenting on how the legs, which were painted with white paint in just the right way, looked shiny, like they were covered with oil or with glossy plastic.
The picture soon got onto Twitter, and the rest was history.
Culverhouse told Insider, “I had some white paint left on my brush and put random lines on my legs, turned out to be a completely confusing picture for everyone on the internet.” The original post has more than 5,700 likes and has been shared in many different places including BuzzFeed and The Huffington Post.
The confusion harkens back to a picture of a dress that went viral last year because viewers couldn't decide if it was blue and black or white and gold.
