Prince George and Princess Charlotte will go with their parents on a royal tour of Germany and Poland later this month.
The Royal Family officially announced the news yesterday, saying Prince William and Duchess Kate of Cambridge would embark on the tour July 17 and return five days later, and had decided their children would accompany them.
"The Duke and Duchess are very much looking forward to this tour and are delighted with the exciting and varied program that has been put together for it,” said a Royal Family statement. “They have decided that their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will travel with them and we expect the children to be seen on at least a couple of occasions over the course of the week."
The visit is upon request by The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and, although the royal couple will be engaging with business and government officials, they have reportedly prioritized meeting aspiring youths in various industries.
The tour features a tight schedule that will see the family visit a number of cities and attend various events. The agenda includes a strong focus on the historical aspect of both countries.
"The five-day tour will also include time acknowledging the complex 20th century histories of each country with visits to the Warsaw Rising Museum, Stutthof Concentration Camp, and the Berlin Holocaust Memorial," said the Royal Family.
"At each location, their royal highnesses will meet survivors of these periods, who will describe their personal experiences."
News that the two children will accompany their parents received a mostly positive response from the public, but some feel the children should be enjoying their childhood.
