Al Sharpton's Viagra Rx Found in Love Nest Leaked by Cops

By    |   Thursday, 08 Jan 2015 07:23 AM

The Rev. Al Sharpton's Viagra prescription was found by police in the home of attorney Sanford "Sandy" Rubenstein in the course of investigating a rape allegation against the lawyer made by one of Sharpton's staffers.

Sharpton was infuriated by the leak about the little blue pills that treats erectile dysfunction, calling it a smear, and promised he would demand an investigation.

"I don’t know anything about that, no, I don’t know anything about that," Sharpton said when the New York Daily News confronted him about the sex pills.

"I am not saying what I do or don’t do, I’m not going to invade my privacy for some cop. I have no knowledge of what was in [Rubenstein's] apartment. But it’s not uncommon for men of all ages to use certain things. If the motive of the cop was to embarrass me, at 60 years old, I am unembarrassable."

In October, a member of Sharpton’s National Action Network accused Rubenstein, 70, of drugging and raping her at his swank Upper East Side apartment in Manhattan following Sharpton's 60th birthday party – which doubled as a fundraiser for NAN, and saw attendance from Aretha Franklin, Spike Lee, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The accuser, 42, said in the suit she was "unconscious and thus unable to give consent," the night of the party, and suffered a "violent, perverted and cruel attack by Defendant Sanford Rubenstein" that would have her "wake up hours later to find herself next to almost 10 bloody condoms in bed."

The allegation led the family of Eric Garner, a Staten Island man who died following a police chokehold in July, to drop Rubenstein as their legal representative.

Rubenstein has a history of representing victims suffering injury or death at the hands of police, including Abner Louima, a Haitian immigrant assaulted with a broomstick by officers in Brooklyn in 1997.

Sharpton also cut ties with Rubenstein in the wake of the accusation, saying that whether or not Rubenstein's behavior was criminal, it was "disrespectful to our movement."

After prosecutors said they would not bring charges against Rubenstein, the accuser filed a civil suit in Brooklyn Supreme Court.

Neither Sharpton nor Rubenstein have attempted to explain why the reverend's Viagra prescription was in the lawyer's apartment.
