Republican Roy Moore is favored by 51 percent of voters in the Alabama senate race, while Democrat Doug Jones is backed by 40 percent, a Raycom News Network poll reveals.
News of the poll results was reported by WBRC-TV.
According to the survey, 9 percent of likely voters remain undecided. The poll surveyed 3,000 likely Alabama voters
It is in sharp contrast to a Fox News poll released this week showing the race between the two men tied.
"The value of a poll depends on a range of circumstances," Moore campaign chairman Bill Armistead said. "A number of recent polls have shown us with a strong lead, but at the end of the day, the one poll that matters above all others is taken on Election Day."
And Jones said: "Polls will go up and down. We are focused on working hard for every vote from the top of the state to the bottom."
The election is Dec. 12.
