The governor of Puerto Rico said Friday that he is "grateful" for the federal response to Hurricane Maria on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
Gov. Ricardo Rosselló told co-host Willie Geist that he "just answered truthfully," when President Donald Trump asked him to rate the response.
Trump met with Rosselló before reporters on Thursday and asked him, "did we do a great job," to which the governor replied, "you responded immediately."
"The truth of the matter is, the president has responded," Rosselló said on Friday. "He has responded to all of our petitions. I've had enormous access to the president and to his staff and they have done so quickly. We are very grateful for that and I wanted to answer truthfully."
"We had a great set of meetings in the White House," Rosselló continued. "We not only had the opportunity to speak with the president and vice president, but also to talk about the immediate mid-term and long-term necessities for Puerto Rico."
