Actor Chuck Norris has endorsed Republican Roy Moore for the Aug. 15 Senate primary in Alabama, The Birmingham News reported.
"The Washington establishment knows they won't be able to count on him, but Alabama voters can," Norris said.
Norris, who starred in TV's "Walker, Texas Ranger" supported Moore's successful 2012 bid for chief justice, according to the newspaper.
Moore had been suspended from his chief justice responsibilities because of an order he issued telling probate justices to enforce the state's same-sex marriage ban, the newspaper said. He later resigned to run for the Senate.
He had been removed as chief justice 2003 for not adhering to a federal judge's order to take away a Ten Commandments monument he had put up in the state judicial building, the News reported.
"Judge Roy Moore is the real deal: He's tough, tested, and has a spine of steel," the Washington Examiner quoted Norris.
