Murdoch to Christie: Redeclare for Romney or Take Blame for Defeat

Saturday, 03 November 2012 11:46 AM EDT

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will have to carry the blame if Barack Obama wins four more years in the White House, News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch has claimed.

The only way for Christie to redeem himself is by making it clear before Tuesday's election that he supports his fellow Republican, Murdoch tweeted.

He made his comment after congratulating New York City Mayor Michael Bloomerg for calling off the city's marathon on Friday in a tweet.

Urgent Poll: Romney or Obama? Cast Your Vote Now!

"Thanks Bloomberg right decision.@Now Christie, while thanking O, must re-declare for Romney, or take blame for next four dire years.”

Some conservatives, including Rush Limbaugh, have slammed Christie for being too fulsome in his praise for Obama so close to the election. They fear it could resonate with voters and help Obama.

Christie, who delivered the keynote speech at the Republican National
Convention, was an effective critic of Obama on the campaign trail. He
repeatedly praised the president during the Hurricane Sandy ordeal for
his leadership.

Limbaugh tore into Christie for his praise of Obama, on his show Thursday.
